Thoughts On Changing The First Person Perspective Of A Novel Every Chapter?

For example: the novel I'm working on switches perspective every chapter, but the storyline itself is always progressing. I have two main points of views and two other ones specifically for scenes where it is impossible for the other two to be present. I make it obvious who's point of view it is whenever I do switch by usually giving the reader a couple key/obvious details in the first few scenes of whose perspective it is.

I think this adds a layer of character building you wouldn't get in ordinary first person or third person point of views.
