Unable to restore your chats from this backup.

I don't understand how it could happen. Every day I back up my chat and media history to Google Drive. And it just takes one day for my phone to break, and I lose 10 years of my life history. How could this have happened? The backup was done properly overnight, it’s in my Google Drive. But on my new phone, WhatsApp can’t restore the chats.

How is this possible? What’s the point of backing up to the cloud every day if it’s all lost without explanation? And how can the backup be corrupted/damaged when WhatsApp only allows us to have one backup? So a mistake, a technical glitch, a simple network interruption during the backup, and everything is lost? How is it that WhatsApp has no solution for this, nor any explanation of what happened with my backup? I am so sad! I feel like I’ve lost a part of my life and my memories.

And by any chance, has anyone with the same problem tried third-party apps that claim to recover chats from the PC? I am desperate but I don’t have much confidence. Anyway, thanks, WhatsApp.
