IUD removed, but waiting for polyp biopsy/removal

Seems like eternity on actually getting started. Mirena removed (thought this was the big step) only to be told of the presence of a cervical polyp. Needing to wait for the first period arrives, until the biopsy procedure can be scheduled etc. Kind of took the fun out of the first "unprotected sex", as I am now concerned about getting pregnant before the procedure. Finally the first period arrived, and strange feelings of needing to remember what it feels like to deal with a real period... haha. Suddenly life went from dreamy baby bliss, to regimented monitoring and medical appointments (and associated expenses!). So just waiting here to actually begin trying... Anyone in a similar situation?
