Rearranging and moving around items
How normal is it for house-sitters to rearrange things? I don't quite understand the etiquette but so much of my stuff has been moved around. All little things, but so many of them. She created a special jar to hold random kitchen items (wooden spoons, basting brush) in a central display on the counter, another little jar on display to hold just teaspoons etc. It all seems meticulously arranged, and maybe a suggestion. Almost all plants moved in some way and some into other rooms. She also found my dumbbells and changed the weights. This was by digging in one of my boxes to find the smaller ones and not putting my original ones back. Using my yoga mat. Lots of shifting of furniture. My bookshelf repacked. She found my string lights I keep in a jar as a light and she pulled them out and put them up.
Also all food in cupboard and fridge repacked and rearranged... also a LOT eaten (like food for a week). I did say 'help yourself', but that mostly implies condiments and maybe the odd tin or jar of something. I'm polite, so when you say 'help yourself' I kinda expect most people actually won't... so probably my fault.
I'm a pretty chill person, so not really bothered by one or two items being moved... but so many little things. I have things where they are for a reason and am feeling weirded out by it. This has happened before with another house-sitter. Is this common? Are there standard house-sitting rules here? She was only here a week.
