Stupid question, but has anyone gone through hell because of hairloss

Petrified of the usual chatter about finasteride, with some saying its a one size fits all miracle drug, and others saying that it caused their bones to grow out of their body... you really cant tell.

Im afraid the ones that love me and care for me will be downtrodden once something happens to me.

How do i mitigate this fear? What did you guys do?
