Mud season - Québec?

We’re doing a trip to Montreal and Quebec City in late May. We plan to do a lot of trail running in the National Parks, likely in Mont-Tremblant and around Charlevoix.

This week I remembered my friend from Vermont telling me about “mud season” hiking and realized that’s probably right around the time of our trip. We live in northern Nevada and the snow here usually melts off the trails within a day or 2, and the mud will try up within a week. Assuming that’s not the case in the forests of Quebec.

Anyone from that area have any insights into what kind of conditions I can expect? Or what I should bring? (Gaiters, micro spikes, etc?) Or any general recommendations about trail running in the area. Merci beaucoup!
