Tell me your success stories with adenoidectomy

My 13 month old son will be getting an adenoidectomy along with ear tubes soon. For the entirety of his life he’s had terrible sleep. Up to a year old we knew/felt this was normal, but I also wondered whether we we were facing something different. At a year old, I knew in my gut something was off. His ENT looked at his adenoids and said they were severely large and will also take them out during the ear tube surgery, no hesitation.

My son has always had thick drainage we thought was just due to viral infections but now I’m wondering if it’s due to his adenoids. Doctors say kids can get 6-9 colds per year. This is low for us, along with ear infections in the double digits. He also wakes several times at night, and maybe this is also due to his adenoids causing sleep apnea.

We are so hopeful this will solve a lot of issues. We are sleep deprived and feel defeated. Did adenoidectomy or ear tubes help these situations?
