MacBook to CRT help!

First off, I’ve read and watched every single thread and video on this topic, I swear. I have all the proper cables, and my CRT display is recognized by my MBP, but the CRT screen remains blue. Any help here? Here’s the setup:

• MacBook Pro (circa like 2021)

• Quasar TV/VCR combo VV1310W (I have the remote)

• HDMI 2 AV converter, with appropriate wires linking everything together — note that I’m using the HDMI connection as well as the power by USB connection on the side. The display will only show up if I use both connection points. FWIW the display shows up as “MACROSILICON”

I might just be at a dead end but I’m so close and I’d love for this to work! Thanks in advance!

Edit: things I’ve tried to no avail: popping in a tape because why not, randomly putting in different channel inputs, messing with the very limited menu the TV has to offer.

Edit 2: additionally, when I arrange the displays, my cursor and windows are absolutely going somewhere, the CRT just remains blue.
