what does tarot actually read? like my subconscious or reality?

i see a lot of different opinions on what tarot is about, but the main ones(that i see online) are usually 1) tarot reads what youre currently thinking/being as a person 2) tarot reads the energy around us

there also seems to be conflicting ideas of whether tarot is set in stone most of the time since its hard for energy to be changed, whether tarot actually reads the future, and i even saw some people say that tarot readers are always accurate and shame people for doubting it

so what exactly does tarot read?

and if its a reading about other people, are readers picking up on their energy, or are they actually reading what i currently believe about that person
