Using \\IP.Address.0.0 format in File Explorer to access a machine's files

Hi all. At a previous job, I would be able to enter a endpoints IP into my File Explorer address bar in the format of

\\172.168.1.120\c$

However at this new location this method doesn't work. All the devices are on our domain and I've confirmed they're online, but I'm no longer able to get into the system this way to look for files.

Any idea what could be causing this? It's very convenient when it works.
