hey, i’m a junior in high school i’ve been stressing crazy about getting into BOFA i was wondering if yall would gimme ur thoughts if i can get in or not

No Academic bc BOFA

Demographic- Asian American

Hooks: faced food insecurity, immigrant parents, assimilation, Boys & Girls Club alumni if that matters

Volunteering:

Nonprofit – Founder, CEO, President – 440 hours total (11 hours/week)

Sports* club – Vice President – 120 hours total (3 hour/week/year)

Marketing club – Founder, President – 40 hours total (1–3 hour/week/year)

Sports* manager – Manager – 200 hours total (13 hours/week/seasonal)

Food Pantry – Volunteer – 120 hours total (15 hours/week/summer program)

times may not add up b/c they occured at different points of my life, all are verified by my school

EC:

  1. Founded an international (4-8 countries) nonprofit slowly building a team of 50+, raising 2k lbs of food and clothing; $3k raised; ran in YMCAs; 20-35 schools host it; filed 501c3 status myself; developed a computer program to find obscure food programs using ai. Certified to grant both UN National Community Service Awards and PVSA. All done since october 2024 with our biggest collection resulting in 800-1200 lbs of food in one event (wrote about that)
  2. Didn't speak about it but its in my resume; made a branch of my nonprofit at my school running food drives.
  3. Sports* club - 4 years so far I've been in the club doing stuff like hosting meetings with 50+ kids to practice every week.
  4. Varsity Sport* varsity since freshman year; jv 7th and 8th
  5. Club Sport* placed 11th nationally at AAU
  6. Marketing club founder teaching 10-15 kids about marketing and getting them experience

Basically everything I did I connected it like the food pantry I worked at ended up closing so I started my nonprofit. Marketing and Sports club to connect the community bc i never felt connected.

Talked about my passion for hunger and helping my community bc I live in a food desert and experienced food insecurity (recently diagnosed with depression). Main thing I'm worried about is how competitive my market is and I don't even know what market I'm in. Also I submitted my resume but I didn't submit a second rec even though I had one from a regional director at YMCA...
