I Got the call? Steel/Gold Daytona

I Got a call sunday from an AD that the steel gold daytona (white) I requested 10 months ago would be available in the next shipment allocation (~ 3 weeks).

I have no purchase history with this AD AND was slightly confused on how this allocation works as always thought they never could see in exactly what theyre getting or have things changed?

I just saw this story on twitter this morning so wondering if this is connected.
