10 month old mini poodle becoming increasingly aggressive

Super sweet and cool dog. Had her since 8 weeks old. Farm dog, 'accidental litter'. She came with lice, a yeast infection in her ear, and stunk like goats. Not exactly your Kennel Club breeder

Yes we're bad owners for letting her sleep on our bed. Bed, couch, wherever - we let her. Victims of the cuteness.

A few months ago (around 6 months old I think) she got SUPER aggressive when I tried to go to bed and she'd taken over my pillow. Snarled and snapped. I picked her up and holy shit - didn't do that again. 14 lbs of terror.

Since then, we've seen a trainer and he preached positive reinforcement using treats to get her off the bed or couch, and yeah that works for the moment. But I'm waking up in the middle of the night and she's biting me because my hand touched her in my sleep after she curled up next to me.

Further more exposing our bad owner-ness, she's not crate trained. Figured we could be one of those owners that doesn't do that and everything;s cool. After going to sleep on her bed on the floor, some time in the middle of the night she's hopping up on our bed again and curling up then the altercations happen.

We've really given her her space, respecting her boundaries etc. And have learned to not touch her when she's in any kind of sleep or rest. It's disappointing that we feel like we need to be so careful around what is treated like a full family member in regards to food, medical care, comfort etc., but this is the advice we're getting.

The trainer just keeps telling us to 'call her off' the bed and the couch, but it's been months and going nowhere. He said she'd eventually find somewhere else in the house to sleep "like his dog does". But I'm not buying it. This aint happening.

So tonight things escalated - I was cooking in the kitchen and she was out cold on the couch (tons of playing with other dogs at the park today. She's excellent with other dogs and their owners) She got up, stretched, and came over to see me. She seemed in a warm mood as she walked right up to me so I bent down to pet her on her back. She fucking attacked me. Up on her hind legs with her front legs on me, snarling, snapping, and biting my hand. Super vicious and crazy.

I held my arm up with a closed fist and basically let her go to town on my hand with her teeth. I was more paralyzed than in control, but calm and didn't move and just protected my face. She didn't break the skin, but left a bunch of dents on my knuckles. It was over in 5 seconds or so, then she casually went back to the couch and went right back into a seemingly deep sleep.

So at this point I'm thinking she's got some deep seeded issues around sleep and protecting herself, or she's got a tumor that's making her nuts, or she's just wired wrong.

She's never been hit. Not once. Never left alone (I work from home and walk her all several times a day). We're a loving family and take her everywhere. She's great in the car. Seems to love it.

It IS really difficult to get her to eat. Not food motivated whatsoever. She's been checked by the vet countless times for teeth issues and whatnot. The vet suggested medication. I'll get it but it seems like a bandaid to me.

At this point I'm getting desperate. If this keeps happening and nobody (trainers, vets) can help us, she's got to go. And I don't even know what that looks like. Massive failure, to say the least.

So here I am on Reddit at 1am. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
