Step MIL blowing things out of proportion

I just need to rant because I’m over this. Please if you are against vaccines then stop reading….

Okay so we, husband and I, asked our families to get the tDap vaccine updated before our daughter is born in mid cold season. Well my MIL called me Monday drunk crying that because she can’t get it because she’s allergic to the Pertussis part of the vaccine we were going to withhold her seeing the baby. I reassured her that’s not going to happen because obviously we aren’t going to make you get something that you are allergic to. Reminded her too that she just needs to be smart when it’s time to meet the baby. No being sick, no kissing, nothing that can be a way of passing sickness. Well now….today my friend called me telling me my MIL called her while at work….saying I am going to withhold the baby because she can’t get the RSV now. Which isn’t even something that was asked to get because people aren’t getting it that’s aren’t over 65! Hubby and I said that if you don’t want to get it that’s understandable but then you can wait to meet the baby till she gets immunity or her vaccines. We are just asking to be smart and safe when meeting the baby. Like these aren’t like impossible things to be asking. Especially because the baby is going to be tiny and potentially might have a small NICU stay.

My husband is pissed that his step mom is now including our friends into this mess and pretty much asking her to talk to me to lessen my restrictions. My friend, love that bitch, stood up for us and said that what they, meaning us, is asking for honestly isn’t a lot and that people need to be smart about the whole entire thing. Babies getting sick so early is so scary and we’ve already gone through so much to get to this point. She also even pushed the fact of people wearing masks for us when we didn’t even set up that restriction. Like what is even happening right now?!?! I literally don’t need to be dealing with someone that needs to stop being an alcoholic every single day and forgetting conversations.
