Grooming Cost

Our 8 month old Portuguese water dog, Clementine, has been to the groomer a handful of times so far and does great! We noticed the cost of her groom is more reflecting their doodle costs as she gets older. We just got a quote from a new groomer for 180 dollars, eek! We brush her daily and give her at least one good bath at a self-wash station in between grooms, and as needed when she inevitably rolls around in the mud lol
I’m curious how much others spend on average for their adult size Portuguese Water Dogs (she’s 35 pounds right now), and how often. Is 4-6 weeks always the norm, or can 6-8 weeks with bath and daily brush in between suffice? We were well aware when getting this breed that we would need to buy grooming every 4-6 weeks and were prepared, but were surprised when her groom went from 90 to 150 recently. Thanks all!
