Seller ghosted me
I bought something marked under the goods and services option on PayPal. The same day I asked the seller to cancel the transaction, and the person claimed they already gave the money to someone else so they weren't sure if they could get it back. I asked for an update within 24 hours. No follow up, so I reached out again asking for an update the next day, no answer. Day 3 they sent me a request for an additional amount of money, claiming it was the cost of shipping and that they had just shipped it. I did not pay the additional request and messaged them once again asking for the tracking number and estimated delivery day, it's now been over a day and there's still no response from seller.
I'm starting to seriously suspect that I got scammed, but I'm not sure how long to wait before filing a claim. All messages after the purchase were via the PayPal app. The original item listing was on Facebook marketplace, and since the seller marked the item as sold I can no longer message them on FB or access the sale listing. Should I open my claim now, or wait longer for it to be delivered? Iirc PayPal asks for the expected delivery day and I'm not sure what to put when I was never given that information.
