If you’re gonna criticize/condemn Starlight for Every Little Thing She Does, you may as well give Twilight the same amount of vitriol for her actions in Lesson Zero

Keep in mind, this post isn’t solely to bash Twilight, I love both characters but don’t like either of their actions in both episodes but if I had to give a slight defense to Starlight, at least it was clear that she actually had to catch up on her friendship lessons and these were tasks assigned to her beforehand by Twilight. She just overdid it and it led to the relapse we saw in that episode. I can buy this and even sympathize with it since Starlight later explains how she was trying her best not to be a disappointment to anybody. That’s actually a decent reason why she resorted to such measures and I probably would’ve adored this episode if it weren’t for the fact it came out at the late stages of Starlight’s reformation.

Twilight on the other hand… sorry, but the supposed deadline that she was meant to give letters about friendships to Celestia every week was completely self-imposed. Even Celestia says that she doesn’t need a letter from Twilight every single week which only means Twilight was worrying over practically NOTHING and in the end, her solution to this supposed problem was to mind control the CMC into fighting over a doll(and later the whole town but I’ll be gracious and acknowledge that was an accident).
