I want the next leader of Projet Montréal to do the same thing for car lanes and funding that Valérie Plante did for bike lanes
In seven years, PM built in the city an effective machine capable of building quality bike infrastructure, learned from their mistakes and improved on their designs, with the planning to implement them continuously and not as on-off projects.
Well I want that for car infrastructure. Because in seven years PM created a bunch of bike lanes, but completely failed to reduce traffic congestion. I want a city that dares to raise funding for its cars accessibility, while increasing the number of lanes and parking spaces available for cars. Since 2019, many streets have lost 30% of their lanes, this not OK.
I want a city that thinks its infrastructure in paralel with rethinking its car accessibility.
