Masienda Tortillas Press Warning

Wanted to share as a warning to others. Ordered what I thought would be a premium tortilla press and could not be more disappointed. The construction is not only sloppy, but dangerous. There is a sharp hunk of cast iron on the edge of the press. The joins are sloppy and ugly.

The paint is entirely missing in areas leaving it ready to rust. There is red paint scuffed on the handle. Is there NO quality control at this company? It leads me to worry about the conditions at the masa factory.

Also, it’s very heavy, part of the reason I bought it, but there is nothing on the metal feet to protect the surface where you are using it. It will scratch a countertop or table instantly and slides when you try to use it.

Reaching out to customer service today. We’ll see how they handle this. Buyer beware!
