Recommendation for partially deaf person

Hello everyone, I'm looking to get a metal detector for my husband's birthday. I'm based in the UK and have a budget of around £300. I am looking at a detector that can be used on grass/woodland and beaches; the only complication is the fact he is deaf in one ear so has zero ability to locate sound so is there something I can get which could indicate sound direction as well? I've seen that the minelab xterra pro seems to be recommended
