What Vacuum Should I Get?

We already have a Roomba. Our new cleaning lady asked us to get an upright vac. This is a 2 bedroom apt, no pets and no kids yet. Mostly hardwood floors and some area rugs. We don’t have much space so nothing too big. Are Dysons really the best? If so which ones are good? Before moving here I was living in a studio and just used Roomba and handheld dust buster.
