Questions about getting a companion for my 1 yr/old female
We've had issues bonding 2 guinea pigs in the past where we ended up needing to keep them separate. Now we know to use a neutral space and take it slower, but still want to clarify things so I don't screw it up again. Our 1 yr/o girl is very energetic and seems to be a more dominant type.
Would it be more likely to succeed if we got 2 guinea pigs who are already bonded to get along with the 1 we currently have?
What kind of guinea pig do you think would bond with this age/personality described above?
When we do the neutral space exercise, should we use the house our girl uses or do we need to get a new one for the occasion? I know that the space shouldn't have items that are already owned, but also heard that we should have huts for them.
If the session goes well, are they good to live together right away or do we continue keeping them separate while doing more sessions?
If the meeting doesn't go well and we want to try again with a third, do we try bonding all 3 of them even if 2 don't like each other? If only 2 get along, will it be detrimental to have a group of 2 and a group of 1 separated? 3 is the max we can comfortably support
Any other advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!Enter
