What are your favorite old guy golfer sayings?

If you have never played with older guys, you’re missing out. Right up there with playing with your best friends, golfing with older guys is amazing for a variety of reasons, and playing with my FIL and his retiree friends made me start enjoying golf in a new way. Anyway, one of the best things about it are the old man sayings; one came to me this morning while I was walking my dog, and it set off a chain of them that got me wondering how many beauties there are out there that I’ve never heard. Right after college, while I was job hunting, I worked at a course for the extra cash and free play, and this old guy who worked there with us used to say, “good enough for the girls I go with.” Another version I’ve heard of this is, after you hit a decent shot, “good enough for government work” (also applied to doing something sub-par at work or otherwise away from the course). I played with an OLD, old timer once who hit a good shot that trickled up onto the green on a par 3, and someone said, “hey, good shot,” to which he replied, “yeah, sometimes I do that all the time.” 😂 Brilliant. So what ya got? Please share some gems that we can all work into our golf lexicon, good, bad, or just funny. And as my FIL says, “hit ‘em in the short grass.”
