my thoughts about generations
there are many different ranges and disagreements about generations, but to be honest i think everyones opinions is both correct and wrong, as there is no set in stone generation data, no answer can be completely correct and completely wrong.
Therefore, every opinion is valid and we should listen to every opinion, however I do have one single piece of criteria for this to apply and for me to really consider a generational range "correct" (or atleast just like not question it and defend them if others are annoying them about it) as im not trying to gatekeep certain years but we cant have a 2020 born saying they are gen z...
It has to be within a set amount of years of the most common ranges (pew) (although mccrindle is popular for gen alpha it would mess up the perception of generations, plus mccrindle is more used for the absolute earliest a generation can be)
these would be the broadest ranges i would consider as "correct" (note: your ranges just would have to be solely years in this range)
Boomers: 1945-1965
Gen X: 1963-1982
Millennials: 1979-1999/2000
Gen Z: 1994-2016
Gen Alpha: 2008/2009-2033?
note: i do not actually start the generations this early, if you would like reasons for some of these start dates ask me (tho tbh for the older generations i just used the x years away from pew)
