Travelling with PreP

Going to Japan next month, via Abu Dhabi (transfer), and wanted to ask if anyone knows the rules/laws with bringing PreP into a country. From what l've seen researching Japan itself shouldn't an issue (allows 1 mth supply for personal use) - though please correct me if this is incorrect.

The particular concern is the Abu Dhabi part of the journey. As I will be going through to transfer to another plane, will bags be checked there?

Any advice and/or experience would be great!
