need a game with deep lore and preferably no combat

i rarely play games and i wanna play one thats gonna pull me in with deep lore. im on a mac so id prefer it supports macos but no big deal if it doesnt, theres always wine. i dont know what kinda games i like or what it is that im looking for in a game but i think i could dig an older game? cuz i usually like old stuff better. that said, im open to anything.
