Tracking vehicle - should the driver have a monitor too?
For a low budget commercial we're setting up the interior of a tracking vehicle with monitors etc.. for a fairly basic setup (camera on ronin 2/black arm) where we're just going to be following a motorbike at regular speeds on closed roads - no stunts or excessively complex moves.
The tracking vehicle driver is very experienced at driving, but is not a precision driver. He's requested a 5" monitor so that he can see a camera feed while we're driving, but the producer thinks it would be a serious safety risk, and that his eyes should be on the road at absolutely all times.
I'd tend to agree with the producer, but I've seen a lot of bts footage where the driver does indeed have a monitor - so what's the accepted and correct practice here?
