Hot water dispenser is leaching what appears to be metallic powder into my hot water! [Profitec 300]

How concerned should I be about this? We have been running RO water through this machine since we got it about 3 years ago. Rarely ever use the hot water dispenser because we drink cappuccinos but have been using it for tea lately and just noticed this morning.

Is this normal? What kind of metal would it be if it’s from the machine? See attached photos.
