To Get A Drone, Or Not

I've been thinking for a while of getting a drone. And after looking more into the regulations and locations where I'd be allowed to fly I'm still twisted. Maybe you guys can help.

• I visit the US a couple of times in the year, I am aware to not fly in national parks and use drone map applications to check airspace etc.
• I live in Germany and if I do get a drone, it's going to be a Mini that's under 250g

I think I'm afraid I'll not use it enough I guess? I'm not sure and I'm hoping you guys can give me some input regarding your experiences. I'm mostly looking at the Mini 3 with the RC controller.
