Reviewing my Al Rehab perfume oils after a month of constant use!
This review made me realize that I actually like good lemon scents, which is honestly a revelation to me. I didn’t add longevity ratings because most of them stay the usual 2-3 hours of projection and then 3-4 hours as a skin scent.
Lovely – The perfect name for this perfume, honestly. It’s very "clean girl" coded. Smells like I just used a fancy shampoo and had a luxurious bubble bath. The lemon is strong and a little sharp, but in a fresh, soapy way. There are hints of florals, and overall, this has the youngest, most playful vibe among the bunch. 3.5/5
Choco Musk – My first gourmand love. I already finished the EDP, but I prefer the oil version because it lasts longer. It’s just a perfect gourmand for me. I feel like a little fairy in a bakery, diving from one cake to another. Or like a little frog lounging in a tub of gooey hot chocolate. It’s basic, but I’m a basic bitch! 5/5
White Musk – This is a skin scent—clean, slightly warm, sweet, and powdery. It’s very much a "my skin but better" kind of fragrance. I love pairing this with gourmand scents, but honestly, I think it goes well with anything to add more complexity. It’s also one of those scents that’s easy to forget about, which I actually count as a win for super formal occasions where you want to smell nice but not be in everyone’s face. 4/5
Delightful – Should have worked for me because I like all the notes separately, but for some reason, the combination is just not my thing. There’s something incense-y about it, and I really don’t like that. The powdery aspect is harsh, and the citrus feels bitter. I’ll give this a try in summer again and hope it works better then, but for now, I’m really sad that I don’t enjoy it. 1/5
Golden Sand – A more layered gourmand than Choco Musk, and it has become my new favorite. The caramel and vanilla are super sexy on my skin, and I basically lived in this perfume during the December winters. I’ve had my girl friends sniff my neck and sigh. It’s very, very sweet, so if that’s not your thing, skip it, but I personally adore it. 5/5
Sabaya – One sniff, and I knew I was never going to use it again. It’s just ugh. I went online to see if others feel the same way, and apparently, people actually like this??? What?? Did I get a bad batch? It smells like someone just sanitized a room with lemon-scented cleaning spray. It’s super alcoholic and incense-y, which, again, I hate. Feels like biological warfare on my nose. Would happily gift this to my enemy. 0/5
Love Apple – Literally an Appy drink but heavier and sweeter. It’s a very distinct and linear apple scent, slightly boozy, and even though I’ve never been particularly interested in this forbidden fruit, I’m so, so attracted to this fragrance. It’s weird, but I love it. 4/5
Soft – Very much like theatre tragedy, which I absolutely adore. The citrus is strong, but it doesn’t go into dishwash territory. Instead, it smells like a lemon pastry dripping with lemon jelly—so yummy!! 4.5/5
Overall, I am glad I ventured into this domain of perfume oils. Very much value for money.
