Train Letter Opener

Hey does anyone have any idea what this is? I bought it at a garage sale. The 68 year old man I bought it from says that his father owned it ever since he could remember, maybe even before he was born.

I can't find any information online about it.

I posted pictured of all the angles I can think of but if there is something else you want please just let me know.

I want to know the story behind it. I feel like if it was something they sold there would be some kind of info on it. I'd also really like to know when it's from.

I love antiques/vintage items and Cedar Point so this is like my two of my favorite worlds coming together.
