Salty Roads
This is my first winter commuting by bike. I’ve heard that you’re supposed to hose off the chain and gear after riding in the salt. I live in a rental and the landlord turns the hose bib off in the winter so hosing it off really isn’t an option. How much damage is the salt really doing, and is there something else I can do to clean it off?
I have a steel frame surly which has me concerned about rust. I know this question has been asked but I’ve seen a wide array of conflicting answers.
