Question to Condo owners
I recently bought a condo in Toronto, not in a traditional short-term rental area (like near the waterfront), but in a good location on the subway line. However, after moving into the building. I realized that everyone is a tenant or at least based on what I've observed. When I registered with the property management office, I was asked to fill out a lease form. I told them that I was the condo owner, so why do I need to sign a lease? It was surprising that a condo owner was actually living in the building and making calls to the property management office. It was really odd. I feel like a guest in my own building. My condo is quite small, the kind normally associated with a Toronto rental. I couldn't afford anything bigger than that in Toronto without going into indentured servitude to a bank. My question is: how many condo owners out there actually live in the condo you purchased and how big is your condo? I feel like owners who own a 600-620 sqf condo do not live in that condo. This is usually a second/investment property. I have my own property, but why do I feel like a guest in that building? There is no sense of community, just like pretty much all tenants from all over the place. This is not supposed to be an Air b&b place. Why do I see people with suitcases in the elevator?
