Accidentally tapped on UP Express
Last Friday I traveled to Kitchener and tapped on at Bloor GO and tapped off at Kitchener GO. I see now on my Presto card that it was recorded as UP Express tap on at Bloor and Kitchener GO tap on. As far as I understand, I will be charged missed tap off when I next use my Presto for these services. I was wondering what my options are:
1/ Is there a way to contact someone and reverse this? Should it be Presto or GO transit or someone else?
2/ Should I chuck this Presto card and get a new one? It will probably cost less than the charge they'll hit me with for both later on. I'll have some money left I'll use for TTC before I do this. Is there any reason I should report it lost or stolen?
3/ I chuck it and buy a new card even if I could fix it because it would be cheaper than what they'll charge me when they fix it?
UPDATE: UP refunds after you've contacted them when you next tap on to the GO network within 30 days. GO cannot refund or fix the missed tap off charge until you've incurred it by tapping on to the GO network again. Given all this will cost me more than a new card, and I'm not planning on using GO for a bit, I will just dump my card and buy a new one.
