AoE4 World Season 9 winrate statistics
With a big patch we usually wait approx 2 weeks before publishing stats. So here we are https://aoe4world.com/stats/rm_solo/matchups?patch=1974%2C2246
This includes season 9 patch 12.0.1974 and subsequent 12.0.2246 hotfix.
As always, when looking at statistics, try to figure out WHY something is a certain way... which matchups, which maps. Given enough time, these stats would always converge to 50% due to how matchmaking works.
These aren't 'balance statistics', they're winrates.
There's still a lot of 'figuring out' what all the changes means for the matchups. The siege changes have a cascading effect, where certain civs can no longer go for greed and then defend with siege, thus changing how these civs are played in the early game.
But it's certain that playstyles have been thrown out of whack a bit, so some adjustment time is necessary.
Some other information that is often overlooked: https://aoe4world.com/stats/rm_solo/ladder#pick-rate
This graph shows the pickrate per league, which clearly demonstrates how English is a starting civ. Contrary to popular believe, English pickrate is 19% on average, not 99.999%.
https://aoe4world.com/stats/rm_solo/maps
Shows the average game duration per map, which is between 30-60 seconds longer than last season. I suspect this is in part due to the builds haven't been fully optimized yet. But we'll see how this progresses as the season continues. This stat is likely more interesting per matchup.
Some final news from us:
- We've (temporarily?) removed the Top Opponent & Top teammates tables from profile pages. For active accounts this had a significant performance cost (regularly spiking to 5+ seconds per page view).
- We've also applied some changes int he database that vastly improves the per-player statistics. We saw sporadic 12 sec spikes loading those stats, which now appears to be down to sub-second. So page loading overal should be much faster.
