[JFK] Does it annoy anyone else seeing first class empty?

According to the gate agent who told me why I’m only on the business class waitlist while there’s all open seats/no waitlist for first on a transcon - “no, those seats are special and we don’t even upgrade our highest status members that bought economy seats there” …seems like a pretty crappy policy that doesn’t reward loyalty. The whole standby list was cleared into first too - would those be non revs?
