Gregtech Gas Collector Help

I've built my base in The Beyond dimension so that way I could have the void. But now I've realized that the gas collector from gregtech only works in the vanilla minecraft dimensions. Does anyone know if there's a way to edit which dimension it works in in the config files? I'd rather not have to process oxygen a different way or have to chunk load a chunk in the overworld.
