inattentive adhd isn't taken seriously
Today i went to see my therapist who I've been seeing for a year now , the facility is government funded and doesn't seem to have a good reputation but i found that its better than nothing anyways today's meeting was to discuss if i should be put on medication for my adhd or not due to me still recovering from anorexia and since the side effects of the pills are weightloss if it was a good idea. I have been working on my weight gain so i could get medicated but they agreed to not go forward with my medication which to me was a bit upsetting since i worked so hard but whatever but the thing that upset me the most was how they labeled me as "neurospicy","weird" and "quirky" the words just felt infantilizing like they only saw me as some creative manicpixiedreamgirl who did have a diagnosis but it wasn't enough to take me seriously and understand the struggles i face everyday and since im a inattentiveadhd person and my symptoms aren't really shown on the outside i would be completely fine. I wish they could just climb inside my brain and actually understand how difficult things can be and my symptoms aren't just reduced to being creative and disorganized.
