UCAS personal statement , paragraph separation

So, in word where I originally did my personal statement, I left full lines between my paragraphs because it looked much nicer to read, but although I was under on character count, I was over on line count. In wondering whether I should just delete the spaces between the paragraphs(because they count as lines) and just make it a less aesthetically pleasing read or if I should cut content to make the lines…recede ig ? Please let me know if anyone has gone thru a similar thing Thanks :))
