Guys I need help with the genocide route

Im stuck at the core, just before sans, the checkpoint says "27 left" but I have been looking for hours and I dont find anything, there is something im doing wrong? I already killed mettaton and checked every room multiple times. Dont know what to do and if I go foward sans doesnt fight
