Why does it seem like being a Spurs supporter is made up of hate watching everyone else and in the bed not giving a damn about how the team you actually support does?

I'm fairly new to being a Spurs supporter (5/6 years) and it just seems like a self hating existence. Not thrilled with how the support handled this last match either. I don't care who they are, there's no reason to be concerned with who is affected by a match played by Tottenham Hotspur other than Tottenham Hotspur. Wasted energy.
