Notifying customers when food is ready to be picked up

Hi everyone,

I don’t have a KDS in my kitchen, but I occasionally switch to KDS mode on my cash register screen. When I see takeout orders ready and waiting to be picked up, I sometimes use KDS mode to send customers a notification that their food is ready. It has worked a few times, but most of the time, customers don’t receive any notification.

I’ve also tried tweaking some settings (highlighted in green in the attached screenshot), but the issue persists. Additionally, when I switch to KDS mode, I often see duplicate tickets for the same customer—one containing appetizers and the other with the main meal.

Another challenge I’m facing is clearing out old dine-in tickets. The screen gets cluttered, and I’d like to focus solely on sending notifications to takeout customers.

Has anyone dealt with a similar issue? I’d really appreciate any advice or tips to streamline this process.
