Do the writers hate Mary or something?

First they burned her alive, then they destroy her again as a spirit. They brought her back only to be thrust into another awful life. She got tortured and brainwashed by ketch and now shes stuck on a hell planet with minimal resources and no way out. Someone clearly has mommy issues.
