I don’t understand what I’m missing about gitting gud.

Edit 2: Everyone’s advice was spot on. I beat the game on my second run after my post. When I realized there was going to be a third phase of Hero I almost shit myself. Great game!

Edit: I appreciate all the advice people have given. I did a run using a lot of the build advice given and it definitely made a huge impact.

I already have a lot of advice here to process and implement so I’m probably going to stop following the thread and checking new comments. Thanks again to everyone who offered tips!

Any advice is welcome but this is mostly just a frustrated post. I think souls games are easy. I beat Melania in Elden Ring on my second try. I beat Dead Cells, Rogue Legacy, Celeste, Cuphead, Super Meatboy. When given the option I always play games on hard or extra hard and yet I have no clue how to beat this game. It feels impossible.

I’ve had two legendary skulls, legendary quintessence, revenge, and execution in a run and still failed to even make it to the fifth area. Does the game have an RNG issue? Are there only a few specific builds that work? What is the deal?
