Cannot see Sims!

So I’ve just recently transferred origin and Sims 4 to an external hard drive from a MacBook Air. Earlier in the day it was working perfectly fine with no problems except slowness, but that’s expected because I hAve no space on it. Now when I open the game from the external hard drive, which I’ve lost all saved families, i go to create a new sim and I can’t see them at all. Like it’s just a blank space, but if I roll my mouse over where the sim would be i can see the mouse change because it’s over the sim. I deleted origin off the external hard drive and redownloaded it. The saving is changed over to the hard-drive for all future saving. Can you please tell me how to fix this. Will totally be appreciated!
