Post Tax Deductions are my RSU’s I purchase and RSUs that vest and taxes on that.
I’ve been in this line of work for 27 years, no college degree and will reach 5 years sobriety in May.
It’s a much harder line of work to get into today than it was back then. I found this line of work by applying for a receptionist position right out of high school.
If I take you way back, my sophomore year of high school (15yo) I walked home with a friend. I walked into our apartment and it was packed up. My mom was getting evicted and I had no idea it was coming. She told me I needed to go find a place to live. So I did and that was the last time I lived with my mom.
I got myself through high-school and had to find a job. I answered an ad in the newspaper for a receptionist position and got an interview. It was a staffing agency. They give you basic tests including basic computer skills. She said “we have a role open for a Help Desk Technician” would you be interested? I said “what’s a help desk technician?” 🫣. I did the interview and landed the job making $10.00 an hour. That’s how I started in IT. All I needed was to be at the right place at the right time and someone who believed in me.
