Hi I'm new! Curious about starters

So I'm using the randomizer for species. But can someone confirm do I have to reset the whole game and do the startup (create my toon, name my rival etc.) In order to reset the 3 different starters or is there a soft reset option.

I'm just trying to keep resetting till I get something I want, don't care about shiny or abilities just the specific mon
