Finally got my POCO X7 Pro! Some first impressions I have
I've been using it for a couple days now, and it definitely feels great. It is fast, smooth, well built. I have a Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G I'm giving to my brother that will come in handy for some comparisons. I wanted something stronger and with better battery life.
The main camera I feel is very compelling, since this is an aspect where these phones are usually considered not very good. Here are a few shots compared to Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G.
Battery life seems promising but it is too early to tell. Here it retails with the 90W charger so it is a nice bundle. It charges very fast! There's also some nice setttings inside the battery menu, like health and cycle count. You can also set optimized charging and an 80% charging limit. Good stuff.
It says to complete 35 charge cycles to improve battery health statistics
Health, cycles, manufacture date, first time used, limit and intelligent charging
I do have an issue though, and is its terrible RAM management. At least the 8GB version which is what I own. Apps close quite fast in the background and when multitasking, particularly if you use the camera. The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G I have doesn't behave this bad and that one is also 8GB and on HyperOS 2.0 as well. Here's a video of it.
Terrible RAM management on 8GB
As you can see it is awful. It mainly happens with the camera but also with opening several apps. I've checked my RAM usage and I always have around 2.5-2.8 GB free so I don't know why it is this bad. Like I said it doesn't happen with the Redmi. I have tweaked some battery settings and the known stuff about this subject but seems unhelpful. Maybe it requires to be addressed with future updates.
So overall the phone is pretty good. But if you can go for the 12GB of RAM variant definitely do it, with it I don't think it can suffer the issue I have, at least not so frequently/easily.
