Is this salvageable or should I start over?

The tank is fully cycled and water parameters are all good!

Only problem is I can’t seem to plant anything in it and all the plants end up dying and becoming debris and detritus dirtying up the tank…

Now its only home to different spieces of snails and dentritivores.

I’m thinking of doing a 90-100% water change, clean up the glass, net out the debris, and try to clean out the substrate while I’m at it.

Or is it too far gone for crystal clear water?
