Never really understood the idea of Caitlyn being “femme”

Lately I’ve been seeing people toss around “handsome” a lot more when talking about Caitlyn, which I’m absolutely on board with. It got me thinking though, why has “femme” Caitlyn been the popular default perception this whole time? She’s always come across as having quite a few masculine traits to me. This isn’t to say she has no feminine ones, but it’s never seemed like enough to consider femme at all.

Butch/femme as a concept has a lot of layers I won’t pretend to be familiar with beyond surface level. But I know at the very least, it’s not just about body types. And yet, it seems like a lot of the time that’s what it’s reduced to with caitvi. It seems like more often than not they end up subverting expectations instead of fitting into them. I might be missing something and I’d be happy to learn more about things, sorry I am dumb
